Piqua, Ohio’s Elite Runner


Rick Callison was an World Class runner from my local area in Ohio.

Rick was the premier runner in the Dayton area in the late 1970ʼs and early 1980ʼs. He was a Division II All American at Southwest Missouri State in 1976 finishing 7th at the cross country nationals. Rick trained with the Converse Sports Complex team coached by Bob Schul for several years.

Among his career highlights include three consecutive Minster Oktoberfest 10k victories, three Dannon Yogurt 17K wins, and an 8th place finish in the Boston Marathon (2:16). His exploits earned him a trip to the 1980 Olympic Marathon Trials in Buffalo where he finished 30th with a 2:17.
